Coordination of Scholarship Programme
Coordination and awarding of scholarship grants from partner development
agencies is one of the functions of the Network Office. For 2013-2014, TROPMED Network Office awarded a total of 19 scholarships to the regular degree programmes
offered in the three Regional Centres of the Network. The distribution of these scholarships by academic degree program and by recipient country is shown in Tables 1 & 2.

Provision of Fellowship to Short Courses
In addition to coordinating the scholarships to degree programmes, twenty two (22) fellowships to a number of short courses offered in the TROPMED Centres were provided by the Network Office to health professionals from the Member Countries. The distribution of fellowships by country is shown in Table 3.

Student/Staff Exchange Project
A student/staff exchange project was piloted among the three Regional Centres of TROPMED Network coordinated and supported by the Network Office. This was in preparation for the forthcoming ASEAN Economic Community and testing the processes and the logistical requirements involved in student mobility in the region for the first year of operation, 2 students/staff from each Centre will be posted to the other TROPMED Centres for six weeks. At this stage of the pilot testing of the project, credit unit for the course was still given by the sending Centre/Institution. To date one PhD student from TROPMED Thailand and two material students from TROPMED Philippines completed their 6 weeks postings.
