Dengue Infection: a Practical Laboratory Approach

Aims

  1. To build diagnostic knowledge and experience with dengue infection
  2. To practice laboratory investigations of dengue infection
  3. To update knowledge on new methods of dengue diagnosis

 

 

Who

Laboratory staff or medical doctors who intend to practice, or who are interested in, dengue diagnosis at both basic and molecular levelsContent :
  1. Review of dengue: virology, immunology, etc.
  2. Dengue virus culture in cell lines and primary immune cells
  3. Mosquito inoculation
  4. Immunochromatographic test
  5. ELISA IgM and IgG
  6. Plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT)
  7. Nucleotide detection of dengue virus by RT-PCR
  8. Protein detection of dengue virus by Western blot and enzyme assay
