1st SEAMEO RIHED-DAAD Seminar and Study Visit Programme to Germany on Higher Education
Research and Innovation

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), within the frame of its Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) programme, have jointly organised the 1st SEAMEO RIHED-DAAD Seminar and Study Visit to Germany on Higher Education Research and Innovation for senior executives and administrators from higher education institutions across Southeast Asia. As a participant, provided with a broader view of Germany’s higher education landscape within the context of the European Union. By the end of the visit, participants will:

 

  • have gained in-depth insight into the German higher education and research system, with a particular focus on how innovation and excellence strategies are applied;
  • have established new contacts between German and Southeast Asian higher education institutions to promote cooperation with Germany’s strong network of higher education institutions, research institutes and clusters, enterprises as well as communities of scientists, researchers and academics;
  • have demonstrated their strengths for potential cooperations to German institutions; and
  • be prepared to act as multipliers in their local context, in view of fostering research and innovation for national and regional development, thus contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

Highlights of the Programme include:

 

  • A Seminar at the DAAD, designed exclusively for participants as a platform where academic leaders from Southeast Asia can exchange with German stakeholders to explore opportunities for future cooperation.
