Nutritional Status Assessment

Objectives
At the end of the course the participants shall be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of nutritional assessment method (dietary, laboratoty, anthropometric, and clinical assessment)
- Understand the advantages, limitations and applicability of various methods used in nitritional assessment
- Acquire the methond and perform dietary, laboratory, anthropometric, and clinical assessment of individuals or groups in the community, essecially the vulnerable groups
- Analyze nutritional assessment data and evaluate nutritional indices using applopriate procedure, reference data criteia
- Develop competency and assurance in the careful evaluation, interpretation and critical appraisal of selected research articles on nutritional assessment

- Data analysis using Nutrusurvey software
2. Biochemical Assessment
- Assessment of Macronutrient (protien, energy) status
- Assessment of Micronutrient (vitamins and minerals) status
- Laboratory practice on hemoglobin assessment using different instuments
3. Clinical Assessment
- Assessment of Macronutrient (protien, energy) status
- Assessment of Micronutrient (vitamins and minerals) status
